This Week’s Quotation
“There is no entrance into the Holy Place except through the Outer Court, and the Outer Court only provides the Open Gate when there is a consciousness of praise and thanksgiving.”
— Martin Cecil, The Outer Court, 1972
Stepping Through the Open Gate

Inspirational Speaker, Spiritual Coach & Attunement Practitioner
At first glance, one might wonder what Martin is really saying in the quote about the Holy Place and the Outer Court. Biblical symbology encourages us to look deeper and find meaning that resonates with our soul.
When talking about the Outer Court and the Holy Place, it’s not about something ancient or religious. It’s about inner spaces we all move through every day. The Outer Court is that place in us where we pause, soften, and become receptive again. The Holy Place is where we actually feel connected and at one with Life, God, and what is true.
And the way we move from one into the other isn’t through effort or belief; it’s through genuine gratitude.
I’ve been noticing how heavy the world feels lately. There’s so much fear, outrage, exhaustion, and division in the air. It’s not just “out there”—it gets into our nervous systems, our thoughts, our relationships. But here’s the thing I keep coming back to: every one of us is a tuning fork. We are always adding something to the vibrational field of the planet, whether we realize it or not.
When we live in resentment, despair, or judgment, that’s what we broadcast. But when we rest into an authentic state of thanksgiving—not because everything is perfect, but because Life itself is still present—something changes. We start transmitting coherence instead of chaos.
Staying in the Holy Place doesn’t mean we never feel pain. It means we keep choosing to stay open, grateful, and aligned even when things are hard. That choice is spiritual work. It is planetary work.
Every time one of us comes back into gratitude, we help steady the whole field. We help make regeneration possible—in ourselves and in the world.
And that, to me, is the real invitation of this moment.
What Is Attunement?
Attunement is a consciousness practice and an energy medicine practice that leads to personal spiritual regeneration.

Major thanks, Sece. YES to sustained gratitude. Big thanks to our Creator and for and to those in our field who offer and whom we enfold. There is no other way from the outer court to the Holy place but with praise and thanksgiving. I’m thankful for and to you – and for this strong statement of Truth. Love, Tom
How true, Sece, that praise and thanksgiving is open to all of us, no matter what we see and feel coming from the rather chaotic world in which we live. And this response on our part helps to “steady the field.” And, as you put it, “we start transmitting coherence instead of chaos.” Maintaining this consistently in consciousness is the heart of the vital spiritual work we do each day, each moment!
Love it, Sece, thank you! The simple truth is freeing, practical, and embodied through authentic presence and awareness, as you bring. I join you and all in that.
