This Week’s Quotation:
“Now if the heart is pure, the heavenly levels of consciousness permeate without interruption, without distortion, the earthly levels of consciousness; and heaven and earth are found to be one in consequence. In such case the heart level of consciousness is as an open window of heaven, and heaven is known in experience on earth… If the heart is impure, however, it isn’t a window of heaven; it’s more in the nature of a mirror…”

The Heart as an Open Window

Inspirational Speaker, Spiritual Coach & Attunement Practitioner
What does it mean to have a pure heart?
It does not mean being perfect or never feeling angry, hurt, afraid, or disappointed. A pure heart is simply a heart that is clear enough for the pulsations of Life to be received and expressed without all the distortions. A heart that doesn’t cling to the stories of the past but is fully in the now and listening to what would bring Life more abundantly to the current circumstance.
Martin Cecil described the heart as either an “open window of heaven” or a mirror reflecting the “treasures of earth.”
We all know what the mirror feels like.
Someone sends a text that feels critical or dismissive. Almost instantly, something tightens. We replay the words, defend ourselves in our mind, imagine what they meant, and maybe start composing a response designed to prove our point.
That is a very human reaction.
Attunement invites us to notice it without judgment. Before responding, we might pause, breathe, and ask:
“What am I protecting right now?”
“What am I afraid this means about me?”
“What would Love, Truth, and Life want to express through me here?”
We may still need to speak clearly, set a boundary, or address what happened. Purity of heart does not mean becoming passive. It means that our response is no longer being driven entirely by the wound, fear, or reaction of the moment.
By going into the space of stillness and openness, something wiser can move.
Perhaps this is one of the simplest ways to understand Attunement: we allow the heart to become less of a mirror reflecting the world to itself, and more of an open window through which something new and life-giving can enter.
This is what it means to have purity of heart, and it changes everything.
What Is Attunement?
Attunement is a consciousness practice and an energy medicine practice that leads to personal spiritual regeneration.

Yes Sece
I have taken some time between receiving your gift.
your words are filtering in- into my being and are so right and helpfull in my inter- stillness and actions, never to forget, I am a window looking out into my world and not a mirror.
Its a drama in the world in the way you need to look to belong, certainly in my younger years , and even now sometimes.
A lot of people are often only communicating through the mirrors, and not really listening whats being said,………great to bring the still place
I am so happy that you discribed all the feelings one can have.ITS SO TRUE.
I thought in the beginning of my angel career that you needed to hide your feelings – and they have been and are also my inner guide- to fly and also how to land, and be in the Earth.
I keep on breathing.
.
Thanx Sece
Thanks Sece! I’m reminded of the psychological advice to put a space between stimulus and response. In that space, if there’s inner stillness, there’s an opportunity for the open hearted person to receive the inspiration from Source that can guide a fitting response to, and for, the situation.
Taking a conscious breath is often all the time /space that’s needed. Not rocket science- just allowing space for the Divine
Thanks for emphasizing, Sece, how important the heart is in the spiritual work we are engaged in. Yes, the heart is a faculty of perception. We feel what is happening in our own personal circumstances and what is happening in the world. But we are not governed by these feelings. Instead we allow the heart to be an open channel to what is coming from Above, the flow of Love from the Heaven of Being that we are.
