This Week’s Quotation:
Thou hast made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side.
~ Lloyd Arthur Meeker
The Sacred Hedge

Attunement Teacher and Practitioner
Have you ever wondered why some people seem to carry peace wherever they go? They walk into chaos and somehow everything settles down, while others could enter a zen monastery and have the monks reach for anxiety medication within minutes.
The ancient story of Job reveals something remarkable about sustained spiritual alignment. When we maintain genuine attunement with the divine source, we become walking sanctuaries surrounded by an invisible hedge of protection.
This protective field isn’t something we manufacture—it’s the natural byproduct of authentic surrender. The hedge doesn’t eliminate problems; it provides perspective. When someone steps into the presence of a truly attuned person, their troubles don’t magically disappear, but they do seem less overwhelming.
I find it fascinating that this protection extends first around the individual, then their dwelling place, and finally all aspects of their stewardship. Divine blessing radiates outward in concentric circles, touching everything within genuine spiritual influence.
Do we really understand what it means to be a living sanctuary? Our primary responsibility isn’t fixing everyone’s problems but maintaining inner alignment that creates space for natural healing. The hedge teaches us that when we truly embody divine presence, we become safe harbors in life’s storms—not because we’ve figured everything out, but because we’ve learned to trust the One who has.
What Is Attunement?
Attunement is a consciousness practice and an energy medicine practice that leads to personal spiritual regeneration.
Wonderfully said, Oren, thank you. Ontop of letting your message land, I will always visualize monks reaching for anxiety pills so I can do my part to prevent that.
Dear Oran
The words you speak are Light songs into my ears, and moves concentric through my body.
Just special, and a blessing here in my morning.
I dont need to ask myself, did I do right in my circumstances
{Sometimes I check it, if needed }
It is great to be in the sacred place of the sanctuary, where ever I go.
See and feel what s happening, and the right words are coming in the right moment
To say or not to say and just to be still!
Love Irene
Job has special significance in my life. I pondered the book of Job as a teenager trying to understand its meaning. In 1960 I audited Archibald MacLeish’s course at Harvard. Then, I saw his play, Job, on Broadway and I began to understand the teaching embedded in Job’s story. In the 70’s a friend gave me a copy of Henry Blakes, Illustrate Job during a transitional period in m life.Over all of this period my trust in the Universe grew year by year as I began to face each challenge with the wisdom of my father who was known to say, “God’s in his Heaven. All’s right with the world,” in times of obvious plenty and apparent lack. I finally understood his serene approach to anything the Universe sent his way. i do my best to follow in his footsteps.
Thank you, Oren! To become a ‘living sanctuary’ is a radical possibility within the storms of our personal and collective worlds. Your words convey the reality of how that happens when we let go to the emergence of life’s design. May I/we abide in that place of Divine presence and creative possibility.
So beautifully written, Oren. Your words are ample evidence of the hedge of protection that surrounds you and emanates from you. The key of course is surrender to and alignment with the Wonderful One within each of us. You are a compelling demonstration of how this creative process of life is designed to work!
thank you, Oren. yes, the protective hedge is largely invisible when we bring peace, balance and the generation of holy substance to our world. It can also be a visible hedge when a group of people provide a sacred surround for their leadership in a criticism-free atmosphere of sacred worship and protection. I am with you in being the hedge, and also in providing it for others. Many thanks. Love, tom
Thank you, Oren, so beautiful and true.
Thank you Oren – this whole piece is beautiful and – peaceful in and of itself.
And this reminder is wonderful – This protective field isn’t something we manufacture—it’s the natural byproduct of authentic surrender. The hedge doesn’t eliminate problems; it provides perspective. When someone steps into the presence of a truly attuned person, their troubles don’t magically disappear, but they do seem less overwhelming.
