Do you feel the building intensity of the season coming into the winter solstice in the northern hemisphere and Christmas Day? I do. And particularly this year.
Winter solstice is a profound celestial event. It has obvious physical significance. It is the longest night of the year, and the days grow longer from that point. Beyond that, powerful energies constellate at solstice time and influence human lives.
Christmas began to be celebrated in about 300 A.D., even though modern historians suspect that December wasn’t the time of year Jesus was actually born.
I don’t want to take away from the significance of the Christmas story as the account of Jesus coming into the world. But that story is also a metaphor for what happens for all people at this time of year. There is spiritual intensification and a spiritual birth. Perhaps that is one of the reasons the story is so compelling for us. It is our story.
We can feel the intensification of this season as deep mood swings—loneliness, joy, a touching of the sacred, and even depression. It is the Christ Spirit being born in us. Understanding what is happening and allowing it to occur, we become a safe cradle for the newborn child. Our Attunement creates a pure creative field where life can flourish.
Shall we hold this Christ reality safe within our awareness so that it may grow and strengthen, to manifest according to its own nature in the coming year?

Yes, we have the sacred opportunity to hold the Christ reality safe within us, particularly during this Christmas season. We cannot allow our celebration of the birth of Jesus or the celebration of our own Christ spirit to be tarnished and diminished by the thoughts and cares of the world conveyed to us by what Uranda referred to as the self-active mind. May our hearts and mind be pure, totally immersed in the Christ within.
