This Week’s Quotation:
“You are a distinct individual and God’s purpose or design for you is different from that of every other person on earth. The same basic truth applies to all, but there is an aspect of truth which applies to you alone.”

Stuckness: From Tomb to Womb — Discovering the Seed of New Life

In the busy hubbub of daily life, with a constant stream of emails, social media, news, and competing demands, it can be difficult to pause and take an honest audit of our inner world. Why do we sometimes feel creatively stalled? Why does life seem to lose its flow?
In Sece Foster’s recent Attunement Blog, Bringing Meaning to Challenging Times, she explores a powerful idea: meaning is not something we find outside ourselves—it is something we bring through the qualities we choose to embody and express.
This resonates deeply with my friend, Julia Kukard’s exploration of Stuckness, where she identifies three dimensions of this condition: Identity, Relational Field, and Meaning. When we feel stuck, it is often because one or more of these dimensions is calling for renewal.
What if stuckness is not a failure, but an invitation? An invitation for a sacred pause.
Within each of us lies a perfect seed embedded in our primal identity, waiting to be birthed and celebrated. Yet before a new birth can occur, there is often a letting go. There may be a “Tomb” period—a grieving, a surrendering of what no longer serves. If we allow it, this gives way to a “Womb” process, where new capacities quietly emerge and a deeper alignment with our soul’s journey begins to reveal itself.
How often have we discovered a formula that worked beautifully, only to find that the music has changed and the dance no longer fits? We shrink into smaller spaces, feeling confined and disconnected, until we are willing to discover the new self that is seeking expression.
I would love to hear your reflections. Have you experienced stuckness? What helped you move through it? Have there been times when feeling stuck became the doorway to something new?
What Is Attunement?
Attunement is a consciousness practice and an energy medicine practice that leads to personal spiritual regeneration.

Thanks so much Anne-Lise! I love the tomb to womb way of describing this aspect of Life.
The most important learnings I’ve had have arisen through either being so stuck I felt like I was in a quicksand bog or when I was struck by an immense Divine gift. Stuck or struck!
When most stuck I learnt to lift my eyes to the hills, from whence comes my help – from the Lord of All. This led me to a deep knowing of that foundation on which I stand & filled me with confidence to live my life to the fullest. Stuck became luck!!
What an inspiring gift. Thank you, Anne-Lise, for sharing your experience and reminder to let love’s seeds of new creation be nurtured in the warm safety of our inner womb space, which we come to trust is there to be found in a deeper space within the chamber of our hearts – especially when we feel bereft and stuck, through the loss of something we cherish and value has seemingly been lost. Beyond our transactional survival culture conditioned state, we find MORE of our true selves, whole, healthy, and ready to discover a new chapter of our lives is on the move!
Moving from a stuck state, from tomb to womb, springs us into a new birth of Selfhood to see and venture forth to discover new vistas that promise new joy and fulfillment of purpose for our lives in this world. Thank you for modelling this in your life!
The very title of this piece — Stuckness: From the Tomb to the Womb” provides great insight into how to handle not just writer’s block but giver’s block. When I stop giving, stuckness has a much more likely foothold in my experience. Thanks much for sharing this tomb to womb perspective. Nothing is wrong when I think I am stuck. I can awaken to the sacredness of the moment, to the rhythms of life, and eventually to the next step. God’s tempo is not always “full speed ahead”. After all, on the 7th day, God rested. …. how about me? do I recognize the intervals within cycles? Blessings on you and the wisdom you share, Anne-Lise. I am PAUSING to write this 🙂 🙂 Love, Tom C.
Thank you for your observations on this topic, Anne-Lise. There is no way that the Truth of Who I AM could ever be stuck. If the physical dimension of my Being sometimes feels stuck, I simply remind it of Who I AM.
I love this theme, Anne-Lise! When I first saw the title, my mind interpreted it as “From Womb to Tomb,” which can be the human experience. But how beautiful to turn that around when understanding that “From Tomb to Womb” is the real process. I’m working to move beyond a sense of stuckness after the passing of my brother. Helping with his significant health challenges was central to my sense of purpose. I’m going to lean into the possibility that “If we allow it, this (letting go) gives way to a “Womb” process, where new capacities quietly emerge, and a deeper alignment with our soul’s journey begins to reveal itself.” Thank you.
