Recently, I became more keenly aware that within my mind and heart, there is a tonal reference point that I relate to constantly. It is a feeling memory of the sacredness I have touched, felt, and known. It has been created by encounters with the noblest people who have been in my life and by my most profound realizations. It has been built by every experience of what is lovely, beautiful, and heart-touching.
This tonal reference point is present in every person and within the mass consciousness of humankind. Martin’s word for it was “love.” Whatever you call it, it is our collectiveness awareness of who we are, why we are here, and our destiny.
I realized that even though this feeling memory of the holiness of life is often ignored, overlooked, or denied, it is present. And we have the opportunity to live into it and let it grow. As we do, we are connecting ever more deeply with the source of the holiness, allowing it to motivate and guide our life.
